Mortgage interest

How much mortgage interest you pay depends, among other things, on the amount of your debt and the type of interest rate you choose. On the page with Dutch mortgage interest rates you find an independent overview of the current rates. Below you read how fixed and variable rates differ.

Should I choose a fixed or a variable rate?

With a fixed rate you pay the same mortgage interest for as long as your fixed-rate period lasts, so you know your monthly costs in advance. The longer your fixed-rate period, the higher your mortgage interest. A variable rate is linked to the market interest rate: it is lower than a fixed rate, but it can change every month or every quarter.
